Description

Plasmajet 6 kW

In a microwave plasma reactor, natural gas is converted directly into pure carbon and hydrogen. This is also the main advantage of the dry methane reforming reaction in a microwave plasma reactor compared to conventional methane reforming with steam: no carbon dioxide is produced. While methane reforming with steam has the disadvantage of carbon dioxide emissions and requires expensive carbon capture and storage technologies, this additional step can be eliminated with a microwave plasma reactor. Furthermore, the pure carbon adds value to the process, as this chemical is needed for tire manufacturing, seals or simply shoe soles, for example.
