The production of honeycomb ceramics for catalytic converters and diesel particulate filters requires a sophisticated drying process. Microwave drying has established itself here, as this technology meets the requirements for uniform drying. The geometry of the honeycomb ceramics with thin walls and the low thermal conductivity of the material ruled out classic drying methods such as hot runner technology or infrared at an early stage.

They produce more precise and consistent results with continuous waves at frequencies between 2400 MHz and 2500 MHz.
