Medical technology and drying of pharmaceutical products
Microwaves have become indispensable in medical technology. Microwave technology has established itself in drying processes for filters and pharmaceutical products as well as in the microwave treatment of cancer cells. Fricke und Mallah supplies innovative solutions in this field.

Drying dialysis filters
In a joint cooperation with an automation specialist, Fricke and Mallah Microwave Technology GmbH have developed a completely new and highly innovative drying process for various products in the field of filtration using microwaves. A patent application has been filed for this drying process, which has been specially developed for the absolutely uniform and reproducible drying of dialysis filters and filter cartridges in a vacuum atmosphere.
In our newly developed process, the microwaves are generated by semiconductor-based microwave generators and not by magnetrons. The effective and gentle drying of the filters is achieved by the time-optimized use of power without damaging the semi-permeable polyurethane membrane.
Efficient freeze-drying of medicines
Fricke und Mallah has acquired recognized expertise in freeze microwave drying. Shorter drying times for thermally sensitive products such as tablets require the use of microwave technology in a vacuum atmosphere. In this process, the ice crystals sublimate directly into the gaseous state without a liquid phase occurring in the meantime.
Innovative processes for freeze-drying
For freeze-drying, we have developed a new, highly innovative process based on solid state microwave technology without arcing under typical vacuum atmosphere conditions.
Precise ablation thanks to microwave technology
Microwave technology has become firmly established in ablation thanks to rapid progress. It enables more precise, gentler and more efficient treatment. Improved controllability protects the surrounding tissue, shortens the recovery time and increases the success rate. Modern microwave systems offer customizable parameters for optimal adaptation to different indications.
The solution from Fricke and Mallah
Our new solid state generator with 500 W and 2450 MHz can be regulated continuously from 20-500 W. This makes it ideal for use in ablation devices.
